The instrument mics are clean with less gain needed, so no feedback. I use voice effects for my vocals due to my music style so even though I'm using effects the natural part of this mic makes it so much better and so clear to still hear and understand my actually real voice with the effects on. The clarity, sensitivity and feedback rejection are all best-in-class! Clearer, crisper, and more powerful than the '58, the OM-5 also has amazing gain before feedback. This is a great one to have in your bag. You can still make this feedback. The mic it self is nice and really light weight. Throw in the second to none feed back rejection, and this is the perfect microphone for me. This is not a bad thing at all but I kinda wish it was a little heavier lol I'm just weird like that I guess ha =D Regardless this mic is totally worth it! I get the punch and clarity of a Shure Beta 58 coupled with the unidirectional pick up pattern of a Shure SM 57. Based on many years of experience with my previous mic choices I would have no hesitation in recommending the OM-5 to anyone looking to improve their live vocal sound, or as a first choice for someone buying their first PA set-up. i have found that this mic sometimes picks up a little more handling noise than some other mics but it isnt of a boomy nature more that it picks up a higher pitched sort of handling noise.
